Spanish-American Warrior Patch

On July 1, 1898, Theodore Roosevelt led a volunteer cavalry charge up the heights outside Santiago, Cuba. He had resigned his post as Assistant Secretary of the Navy to raise the regiment himself. The men who followed him were cowboys, hunters, lawmen, and Ivy League athletes. They took the hill. This PVC patch depicts a skeletonized Roosevelt on horseback, revolver raised, with the blockhouse of San Juan Hill rising behind him. It is the fifth era drop in the American Warrior campaign, honoring 250 years of American fighters who led from the front.
