Veterans Day: The Mission Never Stops

Observed each November 11th, Veterans Day honors U.S. military veterans who served to protect the freedoms of our great nation. But if you ask us, service members deserve to be appreciated every day of the year – especially knowing the often grim reality veterans face upon returning home.

Every day, an average of 22 veterans lose their lives to suicide, amounting to thousands of brave men and women annually. But for those still fighting, there’s help. When a service member’s tour is over, Mission 22’s work begins.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Mission 22 supports veterans and their families through wellness and growth programs, social impact events, and community outreach across the country. Founded by veterans, many in the organization are also veterans, spouses of veterans, or family members of those who have served capable of relating to veteran experiences and providing extensive, personalized support at no cost to participants.

Since 2013, Mission 22 has served more than 6,000 veterans and veteran families, investing over $13 million in mental health and wellness programs.

Programs & Resources

Odyssey Coaching

Individuals are paired with a Post-traumatic Growth Facilitator to establish a meaningful, non-clinical relationship where Health Coaches can challenge participants to make meaningful life changes and establish a clearer vision for their future.

Recovery + Resiliency

A 12-month program combining fundamental wellness practices, guided education, and modern science to help combat veterans leverage trauma into positive self-worth to become warriors at home and in their communities.

Elements

A free self-guided, 28-part online course that blends reading assignments, journaling, and short workouts to hone mental strength and reinforce daily routines effective in living well with trauma and can help jumpstart your healing journey.

Ambassador Network

United We Heal, over 4,000 Mission 22 ambassadors serve on the frontline of veteran healing across the world, raising awareness for veteran struggles with post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries and connecting with veterans and their families.

Local Events

Active across the country, Mission 22 and its ambassadors organize and participate in local events to support veterans and raise awareness. From golf outings to memorial rides, Spartan Races to fundraiser galas, find and join a veteran event near you.

At Swampfox, military appreciation is an important part of our culture. From our American Revolution hero namesake to our MLFR Appreciation Program for veterans and active-duty military members, we salute those who have fought for our country and its freedoms.

In 2020, we created our Hero Series T-Shirt (pictured above), donating $5 from each sale to Mission 22 to fund ongoing wellness and growth programs for veterans. We also recently partnered with the nonprofit for Rocky Mountain Range Day, generating over $800 in proceeds from attendee giveaway entries. But this Veterans Day, we wanted to do even more.
